Your flag works hard! It shakes; it trembles; it drapes; it whips; it snaps; it bakes; it freezes; it ripples; it flutters; it furls; it twists; it flaps; it hangs! What can you do to help it last as long as possible?

• Make sure your flag is the proper size for your spot

• Make a good decision about where your flag will hang. Find a spot where it won’t get tangled in trees or wires or whip against rough surfaces

• Tuck in your flag for the night to keep it safe

• Bring your flag in when the weather is extreme

• Keep you flag pole clean. It really helps!

• If your flag gets really wet, the saturation could strain the fabric and stitching

• Hand wash your flag with warm water and a mild soap to keep the colors bright and sparkling

• Wet flags should be spread out flat to dry - do not fold or roll

• Trimming and re-hemming torn or frayed ends will help extend the life of the flag
